Stock Market Update - Week Ended November 15, 2019
The S&P 500 closed at 3120.46, up 0.9% this week, to another record high closing. This marks the sixth consecutive weekly gain for the index, which is now up 24% year-to-date.
The health-care sector was up 2.4% on the week, followed by real estate up 1.9% and utilities up 1.5%.
The energy sector fell 1.3% on the week, while financials declined 0.3% and consumer discretionary declined 0.2%.
Investors remain hopeful for a US-China trade deal. Better-than-expected earnings reports and economic data also boosted investor confidence.
